Text Box: WIND DEVILS
BY KAREN HUMMEL
One of the big newsmakers at EARS over the past three months has been our new job with the Wind-lock Corporation.   We began discussing the possibility of EARS working with Wind-lock on their “wind devils” back in December 2003.  In March of this year,  Mr. Eric Schmura (from Wind-lock) visited our Fulton Street facility and offered EARS the opportunity of assembling their wind devil product.  Over the past three months, EARS clients have assembled a whopping total of 1,527,643 wind devils.  These little “devils” are being assembled not only at our Fulton Street facility, but also at our Lebanon facility.  Not only has this job been an exciting endeavor for EARS, but the high production capability and quality workmanship the EARS workers, has made it has been mutually beneficial to the Wind-lock Corporation.
The big newsmakers in this job are of course, Mr. Schmura of Wind-lock, for making this all possible, and the staff of EARS, for their steadfast and diligent work.  Last, but not least, are the workers of EARS, who diligently work on this job, steadily increasing their speed of assembly and thus increasing their paychecks.  Tim G. stated that the job is “fun and easy, and it goes fast”.   He is currently assembling 2100 wind devils daily.  Glenn M. said that “I work fast and make a lot of money doing this job”.  Glenn is currently producing 2200 devils a day.  Kristine, a woman with a visual impairment, is working independently and beginning to shine at assembling wind devils.  She is proud of the fact that she has progressed to completing 700 per day.
